THE SKY ABOVE ME

I finished training for the candidate of researcher in LIPI. The final result was unsatisfied. I thought that I was not too bad, but the result showed different thing. My rank is under everyone in my class. So what were the importance of participation in the class and the willingness to share the task of group if those things were meaningless? Indeed I was sick for 2 days so I could not attend the class, but I already tried my best to catch up and finally accomplished all tasks. Why did that effort not come to something worth?

Whatever it was the result, I will not be sad for a longer time. I am quite realistic, no fair valuation in the world, except the one in Allah’s consideration. Anyway, I have to admit that some of my friends are indeed excellent in education and writing journal article. Some of them deserve to get rank (though some do not). There is a (another) sky above the sky. I should be open-minded about that. The more important thing now is how to behave to anticipate the change in my surrounding. Since I am not young anymore, my health is quite often in trouble and it hampers me to get a high achievement, I have to work efficiently. I also should not take over-load project, beyond my capacity. This year I will have 3 researches, those are enough. 

One very special thing I get from that training is how I should be grateful with my position right now. Thank God that I am employed by Jambi Government so my income is much higher than some friends who work in Agriculture Department. When I saw them for the first time, I whispered to myself, “They are so modest and somber”. Why those smart Indonesians get low salary while those of stupid and opportunist ones get high income? No wonder Indonesia faces these multi dimension problems. The government has ignored the hard-working, genius and talented Indonesians.

Finally, though I didn’t make a good record in LIPI training, there are some concepts in my head that I want to apply in BALITBANGDA of Jambi. Jambi is my home. I will give my best to improve it.
