Life should be balanced. For a long time I believe that chatting with friends or my neighbors as useless. That activity often leads to a negative thing since I trap in gossiping or discrediting someone. So, I usually spend my spare time alone, or just with my family or doing my hobbies. As an effect, I fail to update the current issues in my office or home’s surrounding. What happened yesterday finally opened my eyes.
It was really surprised me. Wieke, a girl from my neighborhood is the master of cheat. Our neighbors, some parents in her boy’s school, and money lenders became her victims. The newest one is I. She came to me, pushed me to replace Mama’s Riska’s lottery. The way she spoke made me captivated. I followed her request merely considering her as a daughter of Mr. A. Success with that, she still tried to get my money more. She sent short message several times when I was in Cibinong, borrowed my money to afford her business project.
Yesterday I knew she has cheated many people. Her parent was very busy and panic in dealing with people who came to ask money that they lent to Wieke. I can’t blame Mr. A and wife, who finally chased away her from their house. In contrary I blame myself, why I am so naïve and not careful. I often view people only from the outside, (in my thought, Wieke was adopted by a wealthy family so that was impossible she would do something bad like that). Although in fact I found some of people were not really good, even hypocrite and cunning.
Though Wieke’s parent paid back my money, I feel sorry because I have added their problem. My God, please put away the prejudice or anger in their heart toward me. I really didn’t know that their daughter has a very serious mental problem. I don't mean to humiliate them.
